Lezardrieux to Sark

Lezardrieux to Sark
An early start. 5am we slipped our lines and motored away from France back towards Guernsey. The predicted easterly wind had provided a lovely flat sea and we were hoping for a sail but it had now backed north east and ended up on the nose. Despite our best efforts the strong tides made motoring the best option and, slightly disgruntled, we motored on. Once off the end of Guernsey with a following tide at last and the wind still blowing we set the sails and had a lovely sail up into the bottom of Little Russell.

It was a gorgeous evening and we made a last minute decision to head over to an anchorage on Sark instead of the bustle of St Peters Port. We had enough provisions for a makeshift supper and some rum in board. The anchorage at Le Grand Greve was full but we found an empty mooring buoy in the neighbouring bay, Havre Gosselin. The rocks were amazing and we sat happily watching the tide drop and the rocks get bigger as the sun faded. It would not drop below 19 degrees tonight.
