Arriving at the capital of Corsica
19 June 2014 | Ajaccio
Calmer and Sunny
We left Girolata at 08.00 and had a good sail in 10-20 knots in a westerly which took us nicely down to Ajaccio the capital of Corsica. We arrived at 16.30 and are currently anchored in sheltered water at the end of a bay which is 8 miles long! This is like chalk and cheese compared to Girolata as there are cars and a marina with Carrefour and Le Clerc in sight.
However there is the old city to visit and plenty of other things to see so we will probably spend a few days here before heading South again
The anchor is holding well at the moment ? whilst we are enjoying our usual cheese and wine in the warm evening sunshine (no storms here) !
