04 May 2017 | Cienfuegos, Cuba
Virginia and Dennis Johns
We arrived in the bay of Cienfuegas. There is a channel leading into the interior bay. We had to go outside the channel markers at one point to avoid an outgoing cruise ship. Although we had light winds to motor sail by all the way here, at the entrance to the channel and in this bay it is blowing 17-20 knots. We have anchored and when the winds die down a bit we will call the marina and try to move over there. It's not fun trying to maneuver in tight quarters when you have high winds.
We hope to get the boat in the marina so we'll feel comfortable leaving it for a day trip to Havana.
All's well aboard.
