Bay Schooner Race Prep

16 October 2013 | Annapolis Md
Monk
Intentions are funny things. They are like goals with lots of mental and physical axle grease squeezed into the little spaces. For weeks now we've been working to have Mistress ready for the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race, and keep going--after the party in Portsmouth, of course. And we almost made it. (The 7 week yard period, and the house remodeling did affect the timetable--and not in a positive manner.)
But we will make the start of the race--the sail will be the first time Mistress has been out all summer. So the outing will double as a shakedown as well.
Saturday, 19 October, we depart. Beyond intention...Key West, here we come.
We should be sailing near the Schooner America, and just ahead of Josh on Schooner Hindu. And hopefully in time for the Fantasy Fest parade...!
