Kucuk Kuyruk 1 June
01 June 2018
Yesterday we left Gocek where we motored to the beautiful bay of Kucuk Kuyruk, one of our favourite places. The bay is surrounded by pine trees (the same as located at Gallipoli) and steep, rather majestic, cliffs. Even this early in the season there were 3 other yachts here.
We had our first swim for the summer, we saw our first turtle, goats and donkeys for this year.
Nerida used the oven on the boat for the first time, making an olive oil, apricot and almond cake (using pine nuts instead of almonds). There was lots of guessing, as there was no accurate way to measure ingredients and the 180 degrees required seemed to be closer to 250 on the oven dial. Nerida’s home economics skills came into use and the cake was a success.
Glenn christened the new barbeque. Glenn decided that the supplied mount needed to be modified to ensure that our dinner was not tipped into the sea….
Another first was that Glenn tested out the new dingy, which proved to be much more stable than the previous version.
This morning we woke to the sounds of goats bleating and their bells clanging. We had a swim before breakfast, which I am sure will be the first of many today. Does life get any better than this?
