Next morning we were heading for
Virgin Gorda – the second largest Island of the BVI ... a beautiful bay behind the coral reefs with only a private resort in the bay ...
Pond Bay... beautiful blue and turquoise waters and some nice snorkelling – but with one hell of a current! It was hard work to see those few Nemo’s playing around!
This was just a quick stop-over ... we will go back soon ... this Island has too many great places to visit ... will do a special blog on that ....as that is where I will have my birthday! Spanish Town and the Baths!
Early the next morning we were trying to make some fresh water just to discover a big problem with the water maker – we will have to get it fixed – water in the BVI is expensive ... and we want to be self sufficient anyway ... so it has to be fixed ... we were heading for Tortola ...Nanny cay – the only place in the BVI where they service this brand name!
The last day of our 1st week will be spent in Nanny Cay ... a lovely upper market marina ...
.....I am delighted ...because it is very close to where I can buy some Boerewors and Ina Paarman goodies from South Africa! Can’t wait!...The weather is pretty ordinary and rainy and 26 to 30 knots winds makes staying in the marina quite comfy! I can only hope that the Captain can get me to the Fool Moon Party at trellis bay tomorrow night ...I get the feeling he is looking for more maintenance to be done “urgently” just to avoid my beach party!
