Imagine our good fortune to be headed south and find ourselves in Napa! We are also fortunate enough to have friends with connections and to have friends who are able to join us at the spur of the moment. Yes, there are TWO GMC Classic Motorhomes parked on the lot of B Cellars! Thanks to Vicki & Bill for allowing the lot to be littered with trailer trash!
We took the VIP tour of B Cellars with our coaching friends, Billie & Donald and our sailing friends, Carol & Jerry.
Even though we seemed to have dragged the rain down with us on our travels, this is one happy camper! We are off on the tour of the facilities.
Yes, that is an egg shaped, concrete, fermentation tank!
... and its time for the tasting! B Cellars had just moved into their new facility about 7 weeks before we arrived. It is beautiful! This is one of the tasting rooms.
Do you think that we could "spirit" away that huge bottle of B Cellars?! ; )
The food and wine pairings were not only beautiful to see, but even more delicious to eat!
After our incredible tour of B Cellars, Vicki had suggested we visit Saddleback Vineyards. B Cellars' winemaker is the son of Saddleback's winemaker.... we knew we were in for a treat!
Meet Colonel Bob, our tour host at Saddleback.
Donald met The Duke, John Wayne. The winery is affectionately known for their affinity for John Wayne. PS - Nils the winemaker here, made the first ever wine to achieve 100 points!!
