Another border crossing! We dropped into Tijuana about 08:30 in the morning. Not much traffic, the border guards wanted to have a look inside (they say they are looking for guns, money & drugs but I know that they just want to see how the inside of our little GMC Classic looks!). They usually take about 3 minutes or less when they go for their check. Again, the only reference to Pep-Eh and that he exists, is "please take your dog with you" as we get out of the coach. By 09:30 we were well on our way on the toll highway. Andale! Andale!
After 378 kms or 234 miles and 8.5 hours of driving, we arrived at El Rosario. The drive has become less and less stressful. I remember the first time we drove the coach along this (very narrow at times) highway, we were both on the inside edge of our seats.... there is virtually no shoulder, maybe 3 inches on each side and the road is raised up about foot or more..... AND the 18 wheeled semi trucks come whizzing by from the other direction.... we almost touch mirrors!! EEEK! This time, we are way more settled & confident. We slow down as the trucks approach and just glide by them - it is way better!
We stopped for gas at the Pemex and met two couples from - BC! Sue & John and Alison & Bill. They are on their way to Los Barriles, just an hour south of La Paz. We chatted and before you know, we are all headed to the same RV Park and of course, we all met for dinner!
