Baja Haha 2010 Starts

24 October 2010 | San Diego
Chris and Jean joined us, with Wytie and Sally of Reality Check, for the party before the start. Many thanks to cousin Kit for helping me get Seabird from Ventura to San Diego under very adverse weather conditions. Also we were glad to have Joann and Phil with us for yet a third Haha. They really help make us competitive so this year we got 2nd place behind a larger and much hotter Swan 56. It is really not a race but it gets that way aboard some boats.
For his efforts, Phil got a free pair of glasses so he could read at night.
There was some heavier than usual weather which Marge survived and gave us a 200 mile day.
Seabird is happy in La Cruz and we made it back to Chris and Jean's 40th birthday party in San Diego on Alaska's inaugural flight from PVR to SAN and them home for Thanksgiving with the Goodrich and Murdoch groups. The good news is that Chris and Jean will be joining us for Christmas. The bad news is that Ally and John are going to Britain for Christmas.
Meanwhile we are just trying to keep warm and dry in Fresno.
Vessel Name: Seabird

After 4 Baja Haha's we decided to stay in Fresno until after all the holidays and migrate to Mexico after the New Year. This should be a cooler but more relaxed trip to La Cruz via Puerto Los Cabos. I will miss flying "Big Red" but the 2 asymetricals will be much more relaxing. [...]
Extra: Much to do to prepare for another Mexican winter. near wifi off-shore text only
