Dartmouth to St Peter Port
06 August 2010 | St Peter Port
Warm and overcast, light winds
Sunday 1 August 2010
Up before daybreak and clear of Dartmouth before the sun got up for the 70NM passage to St. Peter Port. The wind remained northwesterly all the way at less then 10 knots, so motor sailed all the way.
We arrived at St. Peter Port just after 18:00 BST to find that there were many boats waiting on the waiting pontoon to get into the marina.
By the time there was enough water to get into the marina there were some 40 boats waiting to get in, unfortunately we were somewhere towards the back of the queue!
While we waited dinner was served we watched a little TV and just rested, it had been a long day!
They started sending boats into the marina at 2100 and we did not get in until 2200, meaning we had sat outside waiting nearly 4 hours. We did have a good berth close the the facilities.
Monday 2 August 2010
Rest day, looking around St. Peter Port.
However, tomorrow we want to move on and to catch the tide we came out of the marina at 21:30 and went onto one of the outside pontoons.
Tuesday we plan to leave early and head towards St-Quay-Portrieux, which is about 50 miles away. Planning to be there around 17:00 BST.
