Day 1 Tonga to Minerva

Up early and then we motored to the dreaded dock, tying to the fishing wharf this time. The tide was high so it was much easier than last time and all went without a hitch. We cleared out with customs and then a quick whizz in the market to get some fresh fruit. At 9am we were on our way, shadowed and then overtaken by a fleet of cruising boats participating in a friendly race. Florence were doing well and we managed to get some good photos of them with their gennaker flying. We heard the NZ Airforce Orion plan talking on the radio. A yacht was on distress 40nm ahead of us, but it sounded like a ship managed a rescue pretty quickly. The sailing has been good so far, on a reach with about 15 knots of wind and calmish sea. Quite relaxing after all the rushing around to prepare the boat for our final passage.
