Day 2 Tonga to Minerva
05 October 2017 | South Pacific Ocean

A good night with a bit of motoring and again in the morning. The winds are much lighter than forecast and we are sailing a tight reach with the boat healing a bit. The sea is very calm and comfortable. We had a full moon all night and it was almost light enough to read. We passed the islands Koa and Tofua of the Hapai group on our port side some time during the night, and with the full moon we could see them clearly, Kao being a majestic volcanic island. It is noticeably cooler during the day and night and the sea temperature has dropped to 28 degrees. Yesterday we sailed 146nm and the engine for 5 hours. Currently we have 13 knots of wind and are sailing at 6 knots.
