IC 11_01
01 November 2018
IC 11/01 – It’s November and I’m more than halfway down the coast.
Left Southport about 8:00 and had an exciting ride to Myrtle Beach, a whole new state South Carolina. A little excitement initially, I was behind one of our boats and they ran aground. Not too good, as I passed them I also hit bottom bounced once or twice and was free. Having 4 foot draft really helps. The other boat was freed about an hour later thanks to Tow Boat. Trip was long (45 k Miles) and the remainder uneventful with two swing bridges near the end. The faster boats had to wait and I was the last boat through each bridge opening. At least I knew there would be no traffic behind me for a while.
Tomorrow is a very short run to Waccamaw River area (still considered part of Myrtle Beach) only 12.5 k miles. Chance to sleep late, do laundry and still arrive for Happy Hour. Only a few pictures today probably the same tomorrow, who knows?
