Apalachicola Attractions: Oysters and Kinfolk

27 May 2017 | Catholic Church, Boca Grande, FL
Tuesday, May 9th

Well, I have to admit the return trip across the Gulf to Apalachicola was much easier to stomach...literally! We even got a slip at Water Street Hotel much closer to the restroom/shower!

The real highlight, though, was meeting up with Sara's cousins, Peter and Sara Stoecklin and David Maddox, her younger brother from Tallahassee with Cheryl his wife and two of his children, Alex and George. They're special family and we cherish the times we can get together.

We gathered right down the bayou at Boss Oyster Bar at a table outside on the water. Love seeing the shrimp boats heading into homeport. Had chargrilled oysters and fried oysters. Gerry even got some oyster stew. Have to say, Mansurs in Baton Rouge still has the magic recipe for preparing chargrilled oysters.
They all came to see our boat and then we said our goodbyes there on the pier. Skipbo tournament continued. Sara seems to get the most wins. Luck, not skill! (SBS)
