First You Make A Roux

16 January 2008
Day 5 - Wednesday, 1-16-08 - Panama City Marina

We awoke to a steady rain that continued all day, accompanied by the predicted gale force winds in the evening. Only braved the conditions to dash across a short distance to the marina to take our showers (a real necessity when you're existing in rather close quarters!) and to get ice. Put on a big pot of chicken and sausage gumbo made from last night's leftover chicken and some German sausage from Elberta. Played cards and messed with computers most of the day. Hot chocolate and mulled cider along with a huge stock of M&M's helped to make the cabin fever a little more bearable. Guys did have to go back into the water pump compartment to replace a leaking cracked plastic filter assembly. Pretty funny sight to see these two big guys wedged into fairly minute spaces to accomplish amazing feats. Besides that, they even do the dishes! (SBS)
