Tropical Treasures

13 March 2008 | Chub Cay Club
Day 61- Wednesday, 3-12-08- Chub Cay Marina, Chub Cay, Berry Islands

Roger fixed his famous banana pancakes (without the bananas- they were too green). Sara talked to the Chub Cay Resort landscaper on her way to the beach. The flowers, tropical plants and palms are beautiful. Jean joined her for treasure hunting on the beach where they collected shells, fans, coral and sponges. The guys checked the transmission oil, added engine oil and cleaned the head. The neighboring boat crew received weather info recommending we wait another day before starting across the Bank and then the Gulf Stream.

Went up to the restaurant for their excellent cracked conch for lunch. Gals played cards. Guys took naps. Took our evening drinks to the pool. Met another cruising couple who have been in the islands for 15 weeks. She's originally from Birmingham AL and they now live in the Redington Beach, FL area. They're headed back across the stream, too.

Had shelf-stable Salisbury steak dinners for supper and played The Big Dalmuti. The guys were always either The Big or Little Dalmuti. Jean & Sara were either The Big or Little Ass. (We let them win, of course!)

Guys are now looking for sailing catamarans on the Internet. May stop and look at one on the way back up the Florida coast. (SBS)
