Best Laid Plans

Best laid plans to leave early we're thwarted by a head problem before we went to sleep last night. Although we had pumped out in Atlantic
City, 4 days ago, the system registered as full and we couldn't use the heads. So when we woke up this morning intending to leave by 7:30 we went back to where we obtained fuel for a pump out. Once that was done and it displayed "empty light" it was 8:50- we took off.
It was overcast and cool when we began, and the winds were from the SW at 16 knots. We were rockin and rollin and taking water over the bow. However the seas calmed down as did the winds and the skies became partly sunny.
Our destination was Hampton Roads and we arrived at 1705 after 9 hours on the water. We traveled 90 miles with an average speed of 9 knots Still overcast and getting cooler. As we entered the harbor several sailboats were leaving for the Wed. night races. We were going to fuel up before going to our assigned slip however it was going to be between 30 min. and 1 hour wait until we could get to the fuel dock. We decided to get it in the morning on our way to another marina in Norfolk where we will stay until Cara's departure on Saturday.
Ed did a yeoman's job backing the boat into the slip. Having just picked the boat up a week ago he has already mastered the controls. Way to go Ed
We ordered dinner out from Surf Rider restaurant. Delicious seafood of crab cakes, shrimp, scallops. We ate on our boat and when finished Ed walked all the trash up to the dumpster. We sat and chatted for a bit and then sleep.
