New motor for the Dink....

Hola!
Finally gave up on the 3hp Yamaha dinghy kicker motor that served me well for almost 20 years! It was a 1999 model that I purchased like new from a retired fresh water lake fisherman in Snohomish in 2002. After a new electronic circuit last year and a good year of service it did not want to start this year. So with 2 days of tinkering with it I got the "message". Parts are all but impossible to get especially in 3rd world countries for old motors and just about everything else.
Was hesitant about buying a TOHATSU but discovered they are the largest outboard motor manufacturer in the world and make branded units for most other manufacturers.
So got on my scooter and drove around the bay this morning to complete the deal on the last new 5hp they had in stock.
Got back to SeaSwift and started to row the dinghy the 2 miles across Prickly Bay over to Budget Marine's dock. Inflatable boats do not row very well in case you haven't tried it. I was about half way there when I remembered I set the gas can out with the special 25 to 1 fuel blend I had mixed to break in the new motor BUT forgot to put the can in the boat. No worries I can buy some from the dealer to get home who was happy to take my money earlier for the motor.
WELL that was a miss placed presumption! After much pleading and conjoling I came to the conclusion they didn't care about my predicament...
So I got to row the 2 miles back to SS showing off my brand new motor bolted on the transom and waving in the air for all to admire.... did I tell you it was against the wind and into choppy waves all the way back? Of course it was LOL. I was hot enough about the poor service afforded me that the row went pretty quickly and the exercise put me in a much better frame of mind.
Did I mention I am in a third world country and there is just a different way of thinking here?
AND after all it it paradise!!
Cheers All Around!
