Hello!
It's been a month since I've posted and feeling a need to update. Don't have quite the internet this year I've had in the past? Have found a new program thru Google that as one cruiser friend tells me will "cure all international communication issues!" Must be ordered in the states so I plan on signing up in June.
Making great headway towards Antigua and will probably arrive by this weekend. We are a couple days away and two planned stops before checking in at Jolly Harbor.
Last entry was from Martinique where I stayed a month! Don't usually stay in one location that long but it is a most favorite location. Alternated weeks first week in Sainte Anne's then a week in La Marin, the main harbor then back to Sainte Anne's and so on.
Got many things crossed off to do list and am quite happy with the way SeaSwift is also enjoying the islands this season.
Checked out at Sainte Anne's and sailed for St Pierre with a late start so only got past Diamond Rock then anchored in Anse Chaudere for the night and made it to St Pierre the next morning where I met Merdian and we had a nice lunch ashore. Spent a couple days there then made for Portsmout, Dominica. Checked in and toured the main town. Anchored here a couple days and left for the Illes De Saintes Monday morning. Enjoyed a cruiser bbq hosted by the locals that included a DJ, music & dancing. All the ladies danced and as sometimes typical.....the guys watched.......lol
Enjoyed a lively sail over to the Saintes with steady 20-22kts of wind without gusting and seas 8' to 9'.
Happily anchored at Anse Devant my little hidey hole around the corner from Pain de Sucre. Which is about 3/4 of a mile across the bay from the city dock at La Borg on Terre De Hut. The photo is thru the port hole of a fisherman who just anchored and the pelicans who greeted him immediately wishing him luck!
Currently doing laundry at the check in site and using their internet connection which is quite good.
Columbia is scheduled as an entry in the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta this year and as previously mentioned it is my goal to get there early to sign on as crew for this years event....wish me luck!
That's all for now. I hope everyone has been having a good start to the year and that great summer weather is ahead.
Fair winds,
