Broome
12 June 2007
Arrived at Broome just before lunch after a long 128.5 nm, most of it into the wind and from early this morning it has been piping in at around 20 - 25 knots. But I am here and have just had a few hours kip to make up for the lack of it last night. The crew from Classique have organised two moorings from friends so I don't have to anchor which is a bonus. The only downside of the trip is that my fuel filter clogged with about 10 nm to go this morning and after exhaustive efforts to rectify the problem I just came in under sail, which was easy as the breeze is offshore. I will be spending a few days catching up on some chores, one of which is to replace the fuel filter, I believe the fuel tank was getting low and with the rough weather it may have stirred up some longstanding items in there. The good news is we both got here and any day sailing is a better day than sitting in an office.
