Dampier
22 June 2007
After a night at anchor off West Moore Island we sailed to Flying Foam Passage west of Dampier, it was an all day sail to get there and we anchored on the outermost part of the passage until morning, this would give us a favourable tide into Dampier. This morning we were awoken by the easterly breeze kicking in and at around 10 am we made our way down this seemingly placid passage past the Burrup Peninsula into Dampier. The yacht club here is very welcoming and I enjoyed my first real shower since Darwin, not counting cockpit drenching. The weather is turning cold after the hot humid conditions in Darwin and I am now finding myself short on warm clothing, so off to buy at least one jumper tomorrow.
