Off to Exmouth
01 August 2007
On our second day we had a long walk around Serrurier Island and found a few turtles hatchlings heading for the sea, little Freddy above wasn't doing to well so needed a bit of assistance, he was getting bogged in the sand and was nearly all in, with his chance of survival out to sea slim we gave him a little assistance to get beyond the breakers. The following day we departed Serrurier for the 40 miles to North West Cape, the winds came in and the anchorage didn't inspire confidence so we headed down the coast for Exmouth and the marina, luckily we took this option as Keith's bow sprit wire snapped and he almost lost the rig. He limped in and we now have two days in Exmouth to repair the damage, the wind is howling outside the marina so we will take this opportunity to relax and reprovision before heading around the cape and down the other side, past Ningaloo Reef to Carnarvon.
