FLORIDA!!!!!!!

21 March 2008 | Moorehaven, FL
Glenn.
We're finally here in Florida. Today is Good Friday; we arrived here in Florida Wednesday evening. We were not planning to get here 'till today, but sped up a bit. My father's birthday was yesterday, we had decided to stop less and get here for his birthday Thursday evening. Wednesday evening, we quietly drove into the boatyard and surprised everyone (parents and friends).

Now that we're here, the whole project of refitting Seawing seems a little daunting. We're working on organizing the task a bit to make it seems a little less overwhelming. Right now Seawing is on the hard, in the boat yard. There are a few things that need completing before we launch, such as the rudder repair. The fiberglass in the rudder had separated from the foam core & some of the foam core has deteriorated. Well....rudders are kind of important you know.

In the interest of time, I hired a fiberglass repair man to fix the rudder before I got back here. It turns out that he's a little slow; didn't get it done before we returned...but it's mostly done. Yesterday he got the last layer of glass on it.

We are concentrating on finding a home now. Seawing will not be ready to live on for a while, as we are pulling apart the inside to remodel ('refit' for the boaters reading this). Last time we where aboard for five-months we came up with a list of things we wanted to add or change. We plan on completing the list before we take off for the Bahamas this summer. It's different for us to be looking for a rental-house, as we are used to being on the other end of this equation.

Glenn.

"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead." (Acts 17:30-31)
