Day 13, 8/10–Rogers City to Harrisville
10 August 2019 | Harrisville
Doug Lauzon | Calm seas, sunny, and light breeze
The weather finally gave us a break this morning, with clear skies, calm seas, and light winds. Despite it changing to less desirable within a couple hours , we made it to Harrisville Harbor and everything went back to being a picture perfect day. As we saw when taking a walk into town, this is a real slow paced lakeside spot. Other than the local grocery, a restaurant and ice cream shoppe was open--what else could one want? This is one of the nicest harbors we have docked in and wish we could take a day to kick back and relax at tomorrow, but we need to cross Saginaw Bay before the next wave of gusty winds arrives.
Tomorrow we have a 58 mile cruise to Harbor Beach, with a 42 mile crossing of the bay.
