Day 8–Cedar Point to Mac Rae Harbor
25 July 2020 | Mac Rae Harbor, Harrison Township, MI
Doug Lauzon | Sunny, warm, and calm to moderate seas.
We departed from Cedar Point shortly after 8am with intentions of making a pass through Put-In-Bay, but decided to continue on due to increasing winds in the forecast. As it turned out, the forecast was off at least while we were on Lake Erie. But, always best on the side of caution. Travel was with mostly calm water and the occasional sharing of the waterway with a passing freighter in the Detroit River shipping channel.
So much for not planning too far out...dockage was not available at JBM in Lake St Clair, so we ran the marathon for a 89 mile day (just over nine hours) ending at Mac Rae Harbor in Anchor Bay. This is a great harbor.
We are hoping tomorrow will be a day of rest at the clubhouse pool.
