St Clair River Offshore Powerboat Race

Doug Lauzon | Mixed bag of temps, wind, and rain
Today was the offshore powerboat race and Miss Geico brought back the checkered flag in her heat, topping 140 mph in the back stretch. Our dock neighbors all participated in a pot luck breakfast and lunch, gathering dockside before the races. The weather continually shifted all day from cool and windy to sunny and warm, ending in a cold rain shower, chasing all the spectators from the river boardwalk as the races ended.
