Day 4-A different kind of day
01 July 2022 | Mentor Yacht Club
Doug Lauzon | Windy, warm, and choppy seas
Our plans of an early departure from Erie, PA did not materialize since the wind had the flags straight out. After two hours of waiting the winds slowed enough to safely venture out. Most of the way we were in 2'-3' seas, with occasional 4'. The boat handled it well, but we did take some spray over the bridge. The other obstacle today was to keep watch for the small boat fishermen and the commercial fish net markers floating atop the water.
Once arriving at the Mentor Yacht Club in Mentor, Ohio, in suburban Cleveland, we went to the pool to cool off and enjoy some beverage.
Tomorrow is a sixty two mile run to Cedar Point Marina and Amusement Park for a relaxing three days of beach, live bands on the boardwalk, and a fantastic July 4th fireworks display.
