Day 5-Arrival at Cedar Point Marina
02 July 2022 | Cedar Point Marina, Sandusky, OH
Doug Lauzon | Partly sunny, cool, and moderate seas

Today was the second of two days that the cruising conditions could have been better. Besides the seas being a little rougher than desired, dodging the commercial fishing markers floating on top of the water had us altering course a number of times.
After a five hour day at the wheel, we arrived at Cedar Point Marina and Amusement Park. Cedar Point got it's name from the land it sits on which was filled with native cedar trees. It was in 1870 that a bathhouse, beer garden, small dance floor, and children's playground were the first resort facilities. The first roller coaster was erected in 1902, but today the park has a dozen to thrill seekers. One coaster is higher than a twenty story building and speeds greater than 70 miles per hour. Not to find us waiting in line, it is still exciting to hear the screams of many all the way around the park and into the marina. Having said that, we don't expect to get to sleep before the park closes at midnight.
