Day 7-Cedar Point to Detroit
04 July 2022 | The Millikan Harbor, Detroit, MI
Doug Lauzon | Sunny, hot, and calm seas

Today was one of our best days of travel yet. We decided to leave Cedar Point a day early due to the forecast of thunderstorms later in the day with increased winds over the next two days. The conditions this morning were perfect for the sixty three miles.
Our destination was The Millikan Harbor on the Detroit River just a few blocks from the downtown area. Some of the attractions are the casino, Greektown, and the riverfront walk. Directly across the river is Windsor, Ontario, birthplace of Cathy and my father.
Friends, Linda and Craig, aboard “Sunshine State of Mind”, from Florida were on the dock waiting for us upon our arrival. We met them three years ago in Mackinaw City and have remained in touch with them by texts and Facebook since, following them on their travels to Florida and back here on the Great Lakes. Dockside was a BBQ meal provided by Art, a local seasonal boater and friend of Linda and Craig's over the last four years of their visiting Detroit.
Tomorrow will be a short fifteen mile run to Safe Harbor at Jefferson Beach Marina on Lake St Clair in my home town of St Clair Shores.
