Astoria, Oregon:
Hello Family and Friends - Contrary to some reports, I'm alive and well in Astoria, OR. Unfortunately, the boat (well, engine) hasn't fared as well - more later on this after I have a better chance to talk to suppliers in Seattle and Portland on Monday.
The trip down from Cape Flattery was rolly, with rolls, and more rolls. And, of course, the rain. And then the wind, lack of wind, wind from adverse direction. Oh, did I mention daytime temps not exceeding 45 degrees?? Ah --- summer in the N/W - you gotta love it. I'll fill you in on some other details later - I'm sure I'll have more time in the next few days as I wait for parts to come from wherever they are currently warehoused. Other than that, the crossing of the Columbia Bar was fine - well, a little rolly there too !!
Astoria is a nice place to be stuck for a while and even though I've been here a number of times before, I've never had the opportunity to just walk around town. I hope you all are doing well - send me an e-mail if you find some spare time and let me know how it's going.
Fair winds - Terry
