Sausalito !!

Hello again - - - - For those of you unaware, I trashed my notebook computer the night of 7/18 while offshore Cape Blanco, OR in 25 kts of NWesterlies and 10' seas. Things were going sooooo well that I decided to download some WeFax at 0200 ( well, I was up and awake anyway), after finishing that the boat unexpectedly gybed, and I bolted for the cockpit to get back on stbd tack and settle the boat. You can picture it from there - when I returned below the computer was on the sole and the display was showing a zillion little pieces of glass. (By the way - I'm the 3rd person I know of who has had this happen - you'ld think we could learn from each other).

But, I'm now in Sausalito (more on the trip down later) hooked up to a separate monitor and it appears the basic guts of the notebook were not damaged - just the display. In the next few days I'll check out options and be back in business shortly.

For those of you yet to make this passage down the coast - what a change to get under the Golden Gate - the previous 3 days I was in 50 degree temps, sullen grey overcast and mist, when within 200 yards of pasing under the bridge I encountered blue skies and 75 degrees !!! It's great to be here.
