Hello folks. Midterms all week at Seattle Maritime; then Friday morning we boarded Rusty at the vet, and flew out of SeaTac. Number One Son Patrick met us at Oakland and yesterday Dorothy and I taught a portion of the Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy training on "Police Life and Culture" -- something we've done since the beginning of their program.
We're having a wonderful, if way too short, visit with Pat, Kate, Victoria, Jenna, Jordanne, Jake and Connor, and all their dogs -- sorry Rusty! We just finished a walk in Ragle Park; stopped by Dad's bench to say Hi and hopefully will see bother John's family before taking off again tomorrow (Monday morning).
Last night we got an email from our friend Dennis, who we met when he was chief engineer at Choi Lee boatyard in Doumen, China, just down the road from Seahorse Marine where DE was built. Dennis is in Seattle and we will get a chance to see him while he's here. Ben-Ben has sold his Kalakuta in Malaysia, and is back in Hong Kong looking for a sailing cat. Bob and Margaret are still in Subic with Highland Duck; David & Jamie's Kwakatu is in Chesapeake Bay and will head south soon.
Next week is the workboat expo in Seattle which we are looking forward to. I was very impressed with the gear and setups on the fishboats in the Bering Sea and SE Alaska, and am hoping to get a closer look at some of it.
