Last week there was a workboat Expo here in Seattle - mostly directed at the northwest fishing fleet. We spent half a day there (and this is what I love about Seattle) talked to techs from BalMar (our alternator), John Deere (our engine), ZF gearboxes (our transmission), Northern Lights (our genset), Village Marine (our watermaker) and a variety of other vendors of equipment and services specific to our needs. etc, etc. Getting close to having my list of boatwork for this year. There's an outfit in Seattle -- Tacoma Screw -- which has all manner of fasteners and tools which I'd have made deals with the devil to have access to during our time in China, HK and PI. Anyway, lots of fun to see so many solutions in one place. I doubt we could've appreciated this as much, before all the time/experience with DE we have under our belts.
