Beautiful!
19 July 2010

Gorgeous two days at Naha Bay N55º36.04' W131º41.36' (about 3 hours north out of Ketchikan) -- fish jumping, eagles flying, deer grazing, seals slapping -- as we kayaked, hiked, visited with other folks boating into Naha; did a quick inspection dive under DavidEllis & Alpenglow on the hookah; and got a few boat chores knocked out as well. Back into Bar Harbor Sunday evening - some pretty fancy boat handling getting to the dock against the wind in tight quarters.
Rusty had a great time at Naha - hikes, other dogs to play with until he was too pooped to peep; kayaking with me.
Big half moon last night; incredible surface definition as seen through binoculars. I don't know what to attribute the clarity to - lack of air pollution?
John & Birdy depart today (Monday 19 July) from Ketchikan; we'll shop and do chores. Tomorrow morning, 0-dark-30, the remaining crew -- Dorothy, Mac, Molly, Kelly and Rusty will head north towards Anan Bay (Alpenglow obtained the necessary permits from NPS today). After that, Wrangle, Petersburg, Tracy Arm glacier and Juneau by the 27th.
