cold, cold rain
MotorVessel DavidEllis arrived safely in Ketchikan Alaska -- 1 long or 2 short days from our destination Wrangell.  The trip up was certainly adventurous, but I'm not going to post the detail until I can use a full keyboard rather than 1 finger pecking on a smartphone (not even my phone, cause it jumped ship and is presumably resting at the bottom of Puget Sound) The very condensed version might be: running in the dark, gale & storm winds, freezing spray, blowing snow, iced into little coves, equipment and electronics issues; lots of adventures and poor Rusty a little schitzy at all the rocking and rolling (apparantly has lost his 'sea legs').  But also: beautiful vistas, friendly helpful people, a sense of accomplishment -- definitely not bored.

We did the run only one day slower than in July; only one full day weathered in; some progress everyday. Fixing things and taking a break here in K a few days; then to Wrangell for hailout and sand-blasting.
