Raining in Wrangell

16 May 2011
Finished the epoxy coats today (under the keel and the deck dings).  Started raining mid-day which made the process a bit more complicated as the boat is outside on the concrete, rather than under cover in the boatshed.

The travel lift very busy today hauling boats out and launching others. We have a flexible launch appointment for Wednesday or Thursday, with several jobs still to complete before we splash the boat -- bow-thruster props and zincs must be re-installed; anti-foulant final coat under the keel; replace main engine raw water pump impeller (you may recall that when being hauled out in Feb, I left the engine running, hanging in the straps of the travel lift, after being lifted out of the water).

Once back in the water, we'll have a transient slip for the rest of the month and can finish our work (with power, water and toilets, Yeah!)

So on an entirely different note, for those of you watching HBO's Game of Thrones (which we will not see again til we're back on dry land -- maybe next year we'll get satellite TV on the boat). Anyway, I've just finished the first book in the series and while HBOs version is well done and quite enjoyable, the book is so much richer. Much deeper character development and a better understanding of why (everything).

Continuing to do my PT exercises for my shoulder; not that Dorothy gives me a choice!  I am definitely sleeping better, have much better range of motion but am still "feeling it".
