Checking Things Off The List

08 June 2011
The last three have been beautiful sunny days, so we've been working outside:  up the mast to re-mount one of the VHF antennas as well as the anemometer (wind speed & direction); pilothouse roof to mount the other VHF antenna and the AIS antenna; laced down the bimini cover over the aft deck & cockpit; treated the powerheads of both outdoor motors and the salvage pump with Corrosion-X and took one of the bikes to a bikeshop in town for replacement of broken spokes and a corroded deraileur cable.

Work on fishboats around us continues and in addition, recreation boats have shown up from down south the past few days.

We've booked for the rest of the month here in Wrangell. We've got our list, but we aren't slaves to it; it does feel good though to get things checked off.

It's close to a mile into town, but now with the bikes, that's no problem, although we don't yet have the dogs trained to run alongside the bikes -- another thing on the list. A couple days ago, with a big duffle bag of laundry and a grocery list, we took the dinghy into town, which worked out fine as the water outside the harbor has been flat.

The list is calling...
