2013 Rugby Sevens: Cookies to Coconuts

30 March 2013 | Hong Kong Stadium
Once again, rugby heaven

There is life beyond the jobs, lists and questions associated with commissioning MV Shearwater; there is Hong Kong Rugby Sevens!

Hong Kong Stadium, Upper East Stands, tunnel 326-327 and far enough up for a clear view of the field, but hopefully not so far up to be amongst or within reach of the clusters of international school kids trying out various parent and other adult disapproved-of rebellious behaviors. Dorothy and I once again took our places along with 40-some thousand other rugby fans from around the world to cheer and boo teams from: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cook Islands ("Cookies" above), England, Fiji, France, Georgia, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Samoa, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Tonga, Tunisia, Uraguay, USA, Wales, Zimbabwe

We were fortunate, through friends, to get a third 3-day ticket, and Wade, David and Roger each joined as for a day. " I'm not sure there's really anything more to say about Sevens that I didn't write in the March 2009 blog. I will peruse the great photos Dorothy took to see if there's anything there worth sharing. Fiji won it all by the way. Oh, "coconuts" would be the proliferation of grass skirt and coconut brassiere costumes this year.
