Lee: current position: N 6deg 08.4' E 136deg 52.6', COG 112, 6.7

24hr estimated location N 5deg 30', E 139deg 08.3

we may be getting down to an area of less influence from the NEC, as we have seen our speed, at the same rpm, steadily increase all day. specifically
we have gone from 5.2-5.3kts to 6.7kts, same rpm in 24hrs. we shall be gradually adjusting COG to where we are at 090 along N 5deg 30' and see if we can
keep this speed there.

seas / swells have continued same that last 12hrs with a 2meter swell from the east and other smaller influences from SE & S, making for a bouncy ride,
smoothed out by the p-vane stabalizers

much of the local day was 30-40% clould cover, but in the last hours before sunset we saw 100% cloud cover; now we see stars and moon overhead, but
what appears to be thick cloud cover ahead (ESE) and pretty much 360

baro 29.77 remains steady with small diurnal fluctuation

winds in the past 12hrs, E-ESE-SE 5-10kts (and and more during squalls, currently NE 5

This is the end of first full day underway out of Palau. We've seen very little boat traffic -- just a couple of long-liners. Otherwise it's been bouncy, confused seas,
the occasional squall to rinse down the boat and not much else.

Capt. David made some very good fish tacos for dinner -- highlight of the day! Roger looked at his Go-Pro video footage from Palau dives and Wade is
reading one of the Chet and Bernie books. Between naps, I'm reading a series, translated from Russian, which I think we got in a care package from
Heather & Warren at Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. Not great literature but it passes the time.

I've set up some waypoints on our swoop down to N 5deg 30' or so, then running along 5deg 30' eastbound with only a couple minor jogs, before a NE 300 mile
run up to the approaches to the harbor at Pohnpei. I'm sure this will modify as we go. The guys were complaining about not having a waypoint or target to see we
were getting closer to; everybody has their own way of counting progress towards the goal and I must admit, now that the waypoint is in, I do glance at the screen,
even when I'm not on watch to see how much closer to our goal we might be.

While I'd like a more comfortable ride, I'm happy to accept this as the conditions of our travel to Pohnpei. I would prefer no drama or excitement please.

Late last night the overhead sky cleared showing a brilliant Milky Way, and off to the south, the Souther Cross. Just now I realized I was looking at the Southern Cross
off the starboard side of the boat and the Big Dipper pointing down to Polaris (which I cant see) back on the port side... Very cool...
