Winds last 12 hrs N < 5kts, last 3 hours NE-ENE-E 5-8kts
Seas several 1-2meter long period swells out of E and NE
50 % cloud cover, lots of cumulus around us, but nothing really nasty looking
Baro 29.77, last 12hrs ranging from 29.71, which is a slight drop from last couple days which ranged up to 29.8
All together, just where we want to be
we appear to have hit the sweet spot regards water conditions and we've pulled the p-vane fish out of the water.
swells are well-behaved and, even without the p-vanes apply only enough rocking to make sleeping pleasant
Shearwater just skirted the edge of a benign-looking squall for a bit of a rinse and is feeling refreashed
If conditions were to remain this way all the way to Hawaii, it would be close to idyllic......
My shift is about to start and after I'm treating myself to a salt-water-bucket-shower on the swim step, which is
far more refreshing than it sounds
Capt David made a very hearty lentil soup or stew with pasta last night, accompanied by brownies -- not your brownies
dear, nothing will ever come close. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the tuna caught last evening show up as
sushi later today. Roger has been playing with his laser on his night watch, claims the critters are bio-luminescing in response to
being hit by the laser; I haven't seen it, but it doesn't seem impossible. Wade is working on changes for Honu"s (Wade's boat back
in Poulsbo) fuel system, designing a transfer and filtering system similar to the DD built around a Racor 1000, and I'm mostly
sleeping and reading between watches.
Sorry to be missing DJs first birthday coming up next week
