estimated 24hr position: 17deg 15.7'N 169deg 10.5' W

seas: 3meter, confused w/ wind chop

summary: wind & seas picked up overnight, still doing over 5kts SOG, possibly due to movement of 400gal fuel
forward from aft tank. 779 nm to Hawaii waypoint

we're now down to about the same distance from Pohnpei to Majuro remaining to Hawaii. we seem to be doing better
with SOG now that our swimstep tank fuel has been moved forward, although that entire crew is not in agreement with
that theory. Maintaining current speed would put us into Honolulu mid-day Saturday 29 June, although there are a
lot of miles to go yet, and many possible stumbling blocks between here and there.

Crew spirits are good -- especially after the rib dinner cooked by Capt David last night. Our John Deere 4045
continues to purr away, making all the rest possible. The end of this transit is becoming real and near to me as I look
forward to being home with Dorothy and the Rs, son Patrick's family, daughter Kate's family, friends and all the work
waiting for me on DavidEllis.

David C. still has the last leg, bringing Shearwater home to Seattle from Hawaii; I've been away from my life too long to
continue with SW on that passage. Roger will be headed home. I believe that Wade will continue with David.

Two Pacific Ocean transits may be enough for this sailor; lots of other places to see while my parts still function. I've lots
of notes in my journal and will pull together a long summary of the whole thing after I've had a chance to get settled at
home. I'm thinking of contrasting and comparing the two transits: 2009 North Pacific via the Aleutians and 2013 Mid-Pacific.

Oh, a couple of blog entries ago, I noted that we likely had another time zone to pass thru before Hawaii. Looking at the
chart and things, it appears that Hawaii is on this side ZD +11 of the next time zone boundary, but it's local time is currently
ZD+10 (maybe daylight savings time?).
