Subic

28 January 2008
We are now back living aboard again in Subic. From the photo you can see 3 Diesel "Ducks in a Row". These would be Kwakatu (tan over brown) David & Jamie Fritsch, DavidEllis (white over blue) yours truely, and DoraMac (cream over green) Randal & Ruth Johnson.

After arriving back in Subic from Hong Kong, but before moving back onto DE, we housesit at night for our friend Ray, who was away in China, but has a beautiful female Doberman, who needed the company at night. Zeus seems to like us, and reminds us of our dogs past, which we miss.

We've jumped back into projects -- backing plates for the sailing winches; wings for the anchor roller (kindly provided by Seahorse for all 3 boats, as we were having trouble with the anchor chain jumping the roller); more work on the engine room bilge pump (a problem since the beginning which I think we might actually have solved -- fingers crossed here).

David & Jamie were hauled out today at the same yard we were in last August, to clean bottom, antifouling, and some of the non-skid we applied to our decks. They're planning on heading down through the Philippine Islands as soon as David F. gets crew, then out 4 days into the Pacific to Palau. We're considering accompanying them, spending some time diving/exploring in Palau, before returning to Hong Kong via Subic.
