On the road
28 November 2012 | Ludmilla Ck, Darwin
Will
We had a few day sails on Shanghaied and then hauled out for the wet. Driving wearly home after tying her down to her concrete moorings we spotted this well prepared fishermen heading for Ludmilla Creek.
We had learned Will's house in Sth Yarra required some very urgent maintenance. We had already paid for some work, but then received another huge quote, so decided it would be better if we could do the rest ourselves.
But the plant project required ongoing work. By now most of the plants had large numbers of huge leaves so counting was very onerous. However, a team of volunteers agreed to put in huge efforts to count them during the very hot weeks of December, to allow us to leave Darwin. With Roger available to advise, Jan Allen and Craig Bellamy, Jan Carter, Ian Hance, Helen Wozniak and Di all sweated weekly (and weakly, I hear) in the field to collect data until 31st Dec. Thankyou, everyone
So, we drove south.
