Shroud Dancing

We left Blairgowrie at 11:30, timing the entrance for the tide. Despite my usual beat up, the Heads were calm. We glided through and motored and sailed along the Gippsland coastline to pickup a mooring at Flinders at 5:30. Westernport next morning was still calm, so Will was tempted to a few shortcuts over the shoalsuntil anearby breaking wave hunted him into the channel. We phoned Roger andpicked uphim and his friend on Sunday 30th at Warneet for a day sailing around the bay.Roger got in some steering practice and some shroud dancing. I kindly tryed to include Roger's friend in the sailing thing: after letting him get used to sitting on the boat for a few hours I offered him the wheel, asking "have you ever done any steering?" Well, I learned he has a couple of thousand hours in navy patrol boats, so he coped OK with Shangaied.
We also caught up with Christine, who kindly drove down to find us at Warneet.Relaxing on board with acoffee, sheadmitted that in between studying and working and despite many cautions from Aunty Trish she had found time to get engaged to the man from Sydney.
