White City- Carabelle (Nov 20- 27 )
01 December 2009
Woke up in the morning to find out the propane had run out , not good, no tea... The temperature was close to low 40's and the fog held us back for nearly an hour. But off we went... We had a current of nearly two knots helping us into Carabelle ( Moorings Marina) . The Marina staff here were extremely helpful in making sure that we had our propane tank filled. We spent the better part of a week here waiting for a weather window to cross the Gulf of Mexico. Increased battery capacity , 2 golf cart batteries. The weather did come up as forecast with heavy rain and strong winds, with the tide bringing the boat up to dock level plus. A great deal of time seems to have been spent waiting for a weather window. That day came on November 27th. We left and did the 12 or so miles to Alligator harbour . We spent the night here in a slight chop preping for the crossing.....
