Indiantown to Lake Worth
11 January 2011 | Indiantown
Well, we are on our way leaving Indiantown at 7:30 Am and heading towards Stuart. Water levels are down, and the locks are on 2 hr schedules. We were early as usual forgeting that the intercoastal charts are statute miles not nautical miles. The trip along the canal is bland not too much life until we hit Stuart and the Intercoastal Waterway (Boat Highway). We hang a right at the Stuart Inlet and head into Peck Lake. The night is calm and we are anchored near the back of the group maybe 10 boats bedded down for the night. The next morning at 7:30 AM we are on the road again. Manatee signs
are everywhere slow down , good thing, because as we enter hobe sound with the morning mfreshness, on the morning mist , our eyes are glued on the manatees breaking surface and not on the mansions along the river bank ..........
