Home Sweet Home!

28 May 2016
Arcturus returned to her berth at Armdale Yacht Club on Saturday afternoon and to a warm welcome from family and friends.

NINE MONTHS AND 4300+ MILES

A successful voyage! No mechanical issues, no major weather issues, no groundings, no collisions, no "incidents" of any kind. Maybe we were just lucky? It was an awesome experience!

Cross that one off the bucket list!

Maine to Yarmouth to Shelburne to Lunenburg to Halifax

27 May 2016
The 11 hour crossing from Maine to Yarmouth was in mostly dense fog, the thickest being in Yarmouth Harbour, so thick we could barely find the Marina.

Departed Yarmouth the next morning in sunshine and clear skies. Good thing there was good visibility as the number of lobster pots around Cape Sable and beyond made it seem like we were navigating an obstacle course. We definitely dodged a few bullets but made it to Shelburne without snagging any lines from the numerous pots.

The Shelburne to Lunenburg and Lunenburg to Halifax passages were again cloudy with fog patches and lobster pots!

Stowaway on board.

This little guy snuck into the fly bridge when no one was looking and made himself at home. He travelled with us for a couple of hours when we were enroute to Lunenburg.

Not every day on the water is a good day!
