Got away from the dock

11 November 2020 | Punta San Basilio

We are anchored at San Juanico/Punta San Basiilio and enjoying the peace of no connectivity for a while. It is a nice respite after the
busy time of following the election by internet. I hope the people are taking it well and that there is no unrest. All is well here but a little
chilly at night. I had to add another blanket for myself last night.

Landfall

Its 0630 and the sky is getting lighter. Isla Isabella is right in front of us and 9 miles away. We've been warned to watch out for long line
fisherman.

In Mazatlan

12 December 2019 | Mazatlan
Joseph Earsley
We arrived in Mazatlan a week ago. We've had loads of fun. The city is a mix of modern hotels, a busy commercial port and a section of town (Old Town) that has been left alone and is very charming. The locals have been really nice and helpful. This has been our experience without exception since we have been wintering here these past 4 years. We will probably return here again. The sail across from Baja side is a better wind angle and more comfortable and shorter. All the right reasons. We plan to leave Saturday AM to sail south to Isla Isabella. The place that Jacques Cousteau called the Galapagos of the North. Then on to La Cruz Marina to pick up Jai and Jean. Whoo Hoo!

In La Paz

27 November 2019 | Costabaja
Joseph Earsley | Rain
We arrived in La Paz on November 21 from San Evaristo. A 50 mile passage motor sailing under reefed main and staysl. Its raining here today. We are in a slip at the Costabaja marina. We plan to leave early Friday am to make the 50 mile run to Muertos at the south end of Ceralvo Channel. We will stage there, looking for a crossing window, with Rick and Wendy on Macadamia. Mazatlan Ho!
