Waterways

Sydney holds many secrets. One of them is the number of waterways branching off the main trunk, just like a big old tree. They are so interesting, with some built on every inch, while others are quiet, with wild bush right next door to spread out suburbs and major roadways. Some blocks are so steep it seems the houses are suspended somehow. The cost of construction must be huge. Being down one of these branches you could well imagine you were in a wilderness area, when in fact you a smack bang in a suburb. We are presently on a mooring at Seaforth Bluff. The little bay is called Pantry Bay and on the shore are old stone buildings with rusted red iron roofs which were once used as an armory. A very large sign reads No Landing on Shore. I don't think anyone would want to, right there anyway.
We are enjoying the quiet here, but if you listen carefully you can just hear the constant whooshing sound of the Wakehurst Parkway, or is it the whispering wind......
