Where we are right now

As you may have noticed, I'm not always particularly timely with our blog entries. This means that sometimes the locations described in our blog entry and our current location are different.
When I post a blog entry, Sailblogs puts a pin in our blog map, showing the GPS coordinates that I give in the blog entry header. But this doesn't take into account the coordinates of the places I describe in the blog, if they're different from our current position.
For instance, SCOOTS has been tucked into a slip at Marina Cortez in La Paz for about 6 weeks while we take care of boat projects and make some land trips. But you'd never know that, from my recent blog entries.
To remedy that, I've posted a link to our Winlink Position Report, which Eric updates religiously every time we arrive in a new location. The anchor has barely touched the seafloor in our new location, before he's at the nav station, updating our position report. So it's really up-to-date, even if my blog posts are not. Which is most of the time.
Look for this link in the Links section in our sidebar on the right-hand side of our blog. It's cryptically titled "Where we are right now."
When you get to the Position Reports page, you'll see a bunch of blue pins and one red one. The red one is our current position. If you scroll your cursor over a pin, you'll get the GPS coordinates and the date we arrived, and any comments Eric made. It's pretty cool. Have fun with it.
PS. The photo shows the awesome sign that Kelly, our daughter, held in the San Francisco airport when Eric and I arrived for Christmas. (Kelly has been referring to us as The Pirates for awhile now.) The sign now lives on board SCOOTS with Eric and me. We like it.
